Upon arrival Reach-In Cooler unit was @45F. Customer stated this unit was a freezer, about 2 years back they had other service company converted this freezer to a cooler. **Unit has a r404a compressor now and original cap tube. Unit originally designed for r502 refrigerant. ** Troubleshot and found dirty coil. Cleaned the coil and started the unit and checked system operating pressure, found normal to slightly high head pressure and low suction pressure, this is because the original cap tube was designed for refrigerant. Add refrigerant to brought the suction pressure higher. Watched unit cycles, unit will cycle per setpoint. *** KITCHEN EXHAUST FAN WAS DOWN FOR MONTHS NOW, EXPLAINED TO CUSTOMER NEEDS TO HAVE THE FAN FIXED ASAP, DUE TO THE UNIT LOCATION WITHOUT THE FAN, CONDENSING UNIT WILL RECIRCULATE THE HOT AIR AND CAUSE HIGH HEAD PRESSURE. ***Unit is cooling down to setpoint while I was on site.
Arrived at location with part for Steamer, put in new control board for Steamer, turned power on, tested unit, unit is filling, abs steaming as it should, no further issue.. unit back in service
Found Reach-In Freezer Compressor starts and runs but not pumping. Called Avantco compressor only is under warranty. They are shipping replacement to Allentown shop referencing w/o 153849 3/29/18 Follow up - Replaced compressor pulled vacuum and recharged.When sliding condensing unit back in liquid life ruptured. Grazed shut leak pulled vacuum again and recharged. Unit cooling properly.
Checked unit found dead spot in inf. switch. other switches turn tight, knob unreadable. Will obtain parts and return. model 5htc 208. Ser. 0702100055. 208v 1ph. ordering 3 infinite switches and knobs 2/7/18 Installed all three inf. switches and tested, unit operational. Waiting for knobs, will return when they come in. 2/9/18 Installed three knobs. tested okay. unit operational, job complete.
Bin half full. Unit producing at this time. Customer says unit randomly shuts off. Suspect bin switch failing. Will order & return. 1/4/18 Replaced bin switch. Unit producing properly.
Had to adjust door stop rollers several times until customer was okay with tightness. Now doors are not closing to seal. Need to order 2 new roller assemblies. Will return. 4/7/17 Replaced door catches
Box temp 30F. Temp controlled by pressure control. Adjusted differential slightly higher.
Customer defrosted unit. Temp at 38F. Cond coil blocked with dirt. Brushed clean.
Condenser fan motor seized. Shut down unit and ran to supply house for replacement motor. Installed motor and restarted unit. Sight glass full. Unit cooling properly.
Replaced top float. Unit filled. Fill stopped and unit heated. Got up to ready status. GRO149880 Float Probe
GROEN STEAMER Tech - Gas pressure 4.3" wc & 121 vac ok. Blowers are ok & run. Condensate valves working. Timers time down and sound. Customer said units take too long to cook rice & eggs. Spoke with Steve @ Groen & said all is ok with unit and said if customer would put unit in manual mode after pulling product out then unit would stay hot, but if allowed to time down & stop then unit goes into a cool mode after 10 min. So keep in manual will help with problem. No other problems found and unit is working properly & steam transfer tubes open.
